Fishing in Jaco / Los Suenos

The catch
The central Pacific coast of Costa Rica offers some of the best sportfishing in Costa Rica. Marlin are caught throughout the year, predominantly between the months of January through September. Sailfish run between 80 to 200 lbs, you can expect to see many free jumpers and excessive amounts of sailfish during the months of December through May. Other fish caught in the area include dorado, wahoo, roosterfish and snapper.

The town
Los Suenos and nearby Jaco are located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica about two hours from San Jose. Jaco is a lively town with many hotels, restaurants and an active night life. Los Suenos is nestled between the beach of Playa Herradura, just south of Jaco, and the nearby rainforest. It features a 200 slip marina, 18 hole golf course and the luxurious Marriott Hotel with 7 restaurants, casino, tennis courts and beach club. Los Suenos has the largest marina in Costa Rica. |
